Menu de Noel 2019 now available

Head Chef David, is please to announce that the Special Menu de Noel 2019 is now available at our little French restaurant, here in Woolton Village Liverpool.

The menu is available for lunch or dinner from Tuesday Lunch through to Saturday Lunch. Please note that the Christmas menu is not available for Saturday Dinner or on Sundays.

Wine Tasting & Gourmet Dinner on Thur 5th December, 2019

In association with our wine merchant Tanners, we are pleased to announce that the next Wine Tasting Evening at Caveau will take place on Thursday December 5th, 2019.

The wine evenings are always a delight to host and in addition to great food and wine, Sommelier Bran will give a insightful and fun tasting experience.

Head Chef David is currently working on the menu and full details of this event will be released shortly.

The menu will then be paired with wines from all over France, that represent the best from each region in what could be referred to as a Vino Tour de France!

New Autumn Menus

Head Chef David, is please to announce that the latest menus for the Autumn are now available at our little French restaurant here in Woolton Village Liverpool.

As the seasons change, so to does the availability of certain ingredients and with the cooler climes and shrinking daylight, our tastes and palettes begin to reflect the change in season, seeking to replace the warmth of the sun, with warmth and comfort in our hearts.

Sardines Provençal –  Fresh sardines in a tomato, onion & garlic sauce, 

Champignons aux Parmesan – Portabello mushroom served with spinach & parmesan cream                             Foie de Volaille aux Raisins  – Pan fried chicken livers in a red wine sauce served with grapes

New Light & Quick Bite Lunch Menus

Lunch at Caveau has traditionally been centred around the Table D’hote and a La Carte menus, but from the Autumn onwards Head Chef David has introduced a new Lighter / Quicker lunch menu available Tuesday through to Saturday lunchtimes.

With the new Autumn Table D’hote and a La Carte menus now available, guests will still be able to order from these menus and enjoy everything from French classics like Langoustines Provençal, Sole Meunière, Carre d’Agneau and Coq au vin.

However, for guests wishing to have a lighter and/or quicker lunch, our latest Lunch menu includes a selection of soups, sandwiches and salads including the French classics of Onion Soup, Croque Monsieur, Garlic Mushrooms en Croûte and more.

Languedoc Wine Tasting & Gourmet Dinner on Thur 26th Sep

Caveau are very pleased to announce a Languedoc Wine Tasting & Gourmet Dinner on Thursday 26th September.

With canapés on arrival served with the world’s oldest sparkling wine Blanquette de Limoux Brut, Château Rives-Blanques 2017 the evening will take a delightful tone.

Next, for Starter we have a Bourride en Croute, cream white wine sauce with scallops and prawns, paired with a glass of Domaine de la Cendrillon Nuance Blanc 2018, which is noted for its lovely nose of fresh citrus fruit and white peach with floral notes.

A sumptuous main course, dessert and cheese selection are expertly paired with quality wines from the Languedoc (France’s largest wine region) in an experience that draws in the culinary skills of Caveau Head Chef David Roberts and our Wine Merchant and Sommelier, Bran from Tanners Wine.

We are pleased to confirm that our popular Autumn Wine Evening is on Thursday 27th September and is themed on the Bordeaux Region.

Arguably one of the most influential, most visited and popular wine regions in the World, Bordeaux sees some 900million bottles of wine produced there annually and as there is so much on offer from Bordeaux our Head Chef Dave and wine merchants and experts (Tanners) will be carefully crafting a menu of sumptuous food and vino to explore the tastes of region.

With Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot featuring for the Reds whilst the white grapes are predominantly Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. Plenty to choose from, taste and learn more about from our wine experts Tanners.

*not to start a panic but whilst some 8million bottles worth of grapes were recently destroyed by hail over there during the late May bank holiday Tanners inform us that there is still enough available for us to get through on the night!
